ROCKS IN MY BED: DUKE
A ONE MAN PERFORMANCE: SAT, FEB 14, 1PM, No charge
This live program features the popular vinyl recordings of American composer and big band leader Duke Ellington (1899-1974). Originally written and produced as a music appreciation program for sensory impaired children, Rocks in my Bed has enjoyed a popular following in public libraries around the United States. Along with Ellington’s music, our presenter tells the story of Duke’s childhood and the Duke Ellington orchestra from 1928 through the late 1940’s when his inimitable style was
known throughout the world.
100 tickets will be given away at 1PM at the library’s front desk, and the concert will begin as soon as all ticketed patrons have found a seat.
