Thurs, 10/9, 5PM – Bullying Awareness Night: October is National Bullying Prevention Month. The New Port Richey Public Library will be addressing the problem of bullying and cyberbullying in today’s world. Through short films, discussions and a visit from Police Chief Kim Bogart, we will tackle the problem of bullying and what can be done to help eradicate it. Open to students, parents and community members of all ages.
Mon, 10/13, 6PM – Teen Read Week Play: After several months of writing, rehearsing and prepping, the teens of the New Port Richey Public Library have created a mash-up play in honor of Teen Read Week. With the help of a generous grant from YALSA and Dollar General, they have created a play that “mashes” together several well-known stories, ranging from “The Three Little Pigs” to “The Hunger Games” to “The Great Gatsby”. Come and check out the final production-one night only! We were one of only ten libraries in the COUNTRY to get this grant from YALSA and Dollar General. Admission is free but we are encouraging those attending to bring a canned food item to be donated. This is open to everyone. Please come and bring a friend.
Wed, 10/22, 5:30-7:30PM – Haunted House: It’s back! Presented by YOLO, our haunted house will be for all ages and will feature a less scary route for our littlest monsters. Costumes are welcome! Please, no strollers inside the haunted house.
Thurs, 10/30 – Halloween ‘Rhymes to Readers’ and Parade: This is our annual Halloween storytime followed by trick-or-treating parade through City Hall. Storytime will start at 11AM per usual; the parade will embark around 11:30.
