Hungrytown is back with a concert meant for your Valentine.

Picnic Hungrytown

Thurs, Feb. 13, 6PM, No charge – RSVP highly suggested for guaranteed seating, AScottFL@gmail.com

Celebrate Valentine’s Day a day early at your NPR Public Library. Enjoy a unique musical experience featuring the sounds of Hungrytown, Rebecca Hall and Ken Anderson, a folk music duo with substance and style. Hungrytown was formed after both musicians met in New York City in 1993 while Rebecca was singing in Soho and Ken was a rock drummer. The duo have been performing together ever since. They’ve traveled thousands of miles all across America and overseas, and have become one of the more celebrated acoustic duos in the country, entertaining with balladry, upbeat country, bluegrass and even a bit of rock ‘n’ roll.

Rebecca learned to sing in church as a child, and was an experienced interpreter of jazz and blues standards by the time she was in her 20s. Ken is also an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, who learned to play the drums and organ as a young child. Ken has since moved on to also learn how to play the bass, guitar, mandolin, banjo and harmonica. He is also a natural harmony singer, and his background in pop music is largely responsible for Hungrytown’s unique vocal blend.
